Race Site Layout
Who can participate in the Swissôtel Vertical Marathon?
The Swissôtel Vertical Marathon is a race for individuals with a high level of physical fitness. In consideration for the safety of all participants, expectant mothers are also not advised to participate.
If you are not sure of your physical condition, please consult your doctor before submitting your registration form. Swissôtel The Stamford and its appointed organizers reserve the right to refuse entry to participants deemed unwell or unfit.
How many steps to climb?
Participants will have to scale 1,336 steps, up 73 storeys
The Half Vertical Marathon only consists of 31 storeys
Is there any cut-off time during the race?
All participants are encouraged to complete the race at the top of the helipad, where they will receive a finisher medal. However a cut off time of 45 minutes will be imposed for all participants.
Will the race start by batch or all at the same time?
Participants will be flagged off in batches of not more than 6 participants each, at 20-second intervals.
Are we allowed to hold on to the railing, or take a rest during the race?
Yes, you may hold onto the railings or take breaks during the race. However, please be mindful of other participants ascending the stairwell.
Will I still be able to participate if I'm late?
Latecomers are allowed to participate but they will however not be entitled to the prizes.
How will the timing for the team challenge categories be computed?
Team timings will be an average of the combined timings of two participants of the same team.
If one of my team member fails to turn up on race day, will the rest of the team still be allowed to compete?
You will still be allowed to compete, however you will not receive any timing results or be entitled to any prizes.
How long can participants remain at the roof top to enjoy the view?
All participants are allowed to remain on the Helipad for 5 minutes. Participants may take a breather whilst taking in the captivating panoramic views of Singapore. Bottled water will be provided.
Where are the hydration points located?
The hydration points are located at the start and finish points.
Where are the medical stations?
The medical station is located on every 7th floor, start, finish and exit points.
What do I need to bring on race day?
Please ensure that you have your race bib and MYLAPS tag. Participants will not be allowed to race if either one of these items are missing.
What is the attire for the race?
The participant t-shirt, shorts and running shoes.
What if it rains?
If the event has not started, the race will be delayed. However, if it rains during the race, participants who are enroute will be able to continue the race and complete at an alternative finishing point. For participants who have not started, the race will be delayed until further notice. Should inclement weather persist, the event will unfortunately be cancelled with consideration to the safety of participants.
Should the race be cancelled, please note that the registration fee is non-refundable.
