Safari Zoo Run 2018

Safari Zoo Run 2018

Sat 27 Jan, 2018
About This Race

Safari Zoo Run was conceived to commemorate Singapore Zoo’s famous matriarch and one of Singapore’s most loved animal personalities — Ah Meng the Sumatran orangutan, who died of old age in February 2008.
The objectives of the run are to encourage family bonding and raise awareness on wildlife conservation. Come experience the unique opportunity of running through the Singapore Zoo and Night Safari (say hello to our animals on your way!) with friends & family. Runners can expect more at this edition of Safari Zoo Run as we celebrate our 10th Anniversary!

Run For Wildlife

We are proud to feature 4 animal icons for Safari Zoo Run 2018! They are Ah Meng the Orangutan, Chawang the Asian Elephant, Canola the Manatee and Sunny the Hornbill.

This year our focus is on raising awareness for the conservation of our native wildlife. Each animal icon team supports an endangered wildlife species in Singapore.

Participants are encouraged to help raise awareness for the endangered animals that their team is supporting by taking part in the team Instagram contest from now till the race day. A lucky winner from the winning team will stand a chance to win an exclusive behind-the-scenes experience in our parks! Do your part for wildlife – join a team and run for wildlife today!

I have a child who is below 3 as of 27 jan 2018. Can he/she be part of the run?
Yes. Children below 3 years old as of 27 Jan 18 enter for free (without runner’s entitlements) in the non-competitive family categories (i.e. 5.5km Safari Zoo Family Run and 2.5km Safari Zoo Family Dash). Adult supervision by a registered non-competitive family category (i.e. 5.5km Safari Zoo Family Run and 2.5km Safari Zoo Family Dash) adult participant is required.

Do I need to fill up the indemnity form and seek parental/guardian consent if I’m below the age of 18 as of 27 jan 18?
Yes, participants below the age of 18 are required to seek parental/guardian consent before signing up for the race. They would be required to submit the signed Indemnity form during the Race Entry Pack Collection (REPC), failing which the Race Organiser reserves the right to refuse the entry of the participant. You can download the Indemnity form here.

Will I be allowed to change the size of my race singlet during the race entry pack collection (repc)?
No exchanges are allowed.

Will I get a race certificate after the race?
Participants who successfully complete the race in their registered race category will be awarded a Certificate of Participation. This entitlement will not apply to participants who are unable to complete the race within the stipulated cut-off timings, are disqualified or did not complete the race.

Race Certificates are only applicable to timed race categories. This includes 10km Safari Zoo Challenge (Men’s & Women’s Open) and 2.5km Safari Zoo Kids Dash (Kids).

Will there be baggage deposit service available?
Baggage deposit will be made available to all runners. Runners are encouraged to arrive early to deposit their bags and avoid any delay as a queue is expected.

*While maximum care and security will be enforced, the Race Organiser will not be responsible for any loss or damaged items. Participants who choose to use this service may do so at their own risk.

Where do I pick-up my child for the 2.5km safari zoo kids dash?
There will be a designated holding area at the end point for parents to pick-up their child from the 2.5km Safari Zoo Kids Dash. Details will be revealed soon.
