National Heroes' Day is celebrated in the Philippines to pay tribute to all other known or unknown men and women who sacrificed their lives for Philippine freedom. It is held on the last Monday of every August to mark the anniversary of the Cry of Pugad Lawin, the beginning of the Philippine Revolution by the Katipunan and its Supremo Andrés Bonifacio in 1896.
But this year, it's a very different time for us to run and remember the life and work of all these great people and to pay homage to the National Heroes of the country including all the frontliners worldwide combating Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic.
