About This Race

Force Of Nature Ultra is a new force in trail racing in Singapore with the main sponsor being The North Face whose very own iconic TNF 100 SG series of races set the benchmark for trail racing in Singapore.

Force Of Nature Ultra offers a different format from previous trail races in Singapore by starting off the race at Dairy Farm Nature Park and finishing it over at MacRitchie Reservoir. Participants can choose from 3 distance categories to suit their trail running ability - 12km/23km/64km.

Force Of Nature Ultra offers a tour de force of trail running through ancient dense forests and challenging technical trails deep in the central catchment nature reserve of Singapore and concluding the race on the rolling cross country trails at MacRitchie Reservoir.with over 90% of the routes all on trails and encompassing a wide variety of trails,Force Of Nature Ultra is truly a force to be reckoned with!

The race event is scheduled to take place on 7 July 2018, at Dairy Farm, and it offers 3 tantalizing and challenging catergories:

The 12 KM category aims to introduce trail running to traditional 10km and recreational runners and to those getting started at trail running.
The 23km category will attract traditional 21km runners who are seeking a more challenging and exciting race route.
The 64km category is the ultimate beast specifically designed for seasoned trail runners,ultra runners and all other pain obsessed 'crazies'!

1) It is mandatory for all registered participants to collect their Race Packs within the official stated dates.

2) Participants will need to bring along their race entry confirmation slip or NRIC/ID for verification purposes.

3 )For Participants who are unable to collect their race packs personally during the assigned collection dates, you may authorize someone else to collect it for you.

Your representative will need to produce the following documents in order to collect on your behalf:

    About Race Registration


    1. What is the minimum age to participate?
    Ans: The minimum age to participate is 18 years of age on the date of the race (7th July 2018). Exceptions may be made for those under 18 years of age if a written request is made by the parents/guardians. The request will be evaluated and a decision to allow the individual to register will then be made.this will be done solely at our discretion.


    2.What am i entitled to as a participant?
    Ans: Please kindly refer to runner's entitlements.


    3. Do i get a refund if i choose not to participate after registration?
    Ans: Refunds will be done on a case by case basis only. Valid medical documentation must be provided if the reason to withdraw is based on medical grounds.


    4. When will my registration be considered complete?
    Ans: You will receive an email confirmation slip upon your successful registration of the race


    5. Is the race open to all nationalities?
    Ans: Yes, the race is open to all nationalities.


    About the Race Event


    1. Where is the Race Venue / Flag off point? 
    Ans: MOE Dairy Farm Outdoor Adventure Centre  30 Dairy Farm Rd Singapore 679058 


    2. Is it advisable to drive my vehicle/motorbike to the race venue at the start off point?Ans: No. It is strongly not recommended for participants to drive their vehicles/motorbike to the start off point at Dairy Farm as the race will conclude over at MacRitchie Reservoir. We advise all participants to take public transport to the start off point. 


    3. How do I get to the Race Venue?
    Ans: By Train: Exit at Downtown Line - Hillview MRT Station Exit A  By Bus: 171/170/67/961/75/178/184  By Car: Nearest Carpark - Dairy Farm Carpark A 
    4. What time does the race start?
    Ans: 64km - 6.30am  23km - 7am  12km - 7.30am 


    5. What time must i reach the race start off venue before flag off?
    Ans: 64km - by 6am  23km - by 6.30am  12km - by 7am


    6. What is the cut-off time for the race?
    Ans: 64km - 12.5 hours (7pm)  23km - 23km - 6 hours (1pm)  4 hours (11.30am) 


    7. Is there a baggage deposit at the start point?
    Ans: Yes. There will be a baggage deposit at the start point for all 3 categories. Your baggage will be tagged with a number and a ticket will be issued to you to collect your baggage after the race is over at MacRitchie Reservoir. However,please be informed that the Organizer will not be held accountable for any loss or damage of items/personal belongings. 


    8. What happens if I'm unable to complete the race before the specified cut off time for the category I'm participating?
    Ans: You will not be awarded a finisher's medal and you will be given a DNF status in the final finisher's list. 


    9. What happens if i am injured during the race and unable to carry on? 
    Ans: In case of those needing urgent medical attention, please approach the nearest course marshal deployed along the route for assistance or call the Race Director by mobile phone who will then send medical personnel to your location to aid you. 


    10. What happens if it rains?
    Ans: In the event of rain and risk of lightning,course marshals will divert runners on route to nearby sheltered areas. For the safety and well being of all participants, the Organizer may decide to call off the race in view of bad weather. 


    11. Do i need to bring along my own hydration pack/bottles/flasks/cups for the race?
    Ans: Yes. It is compulsory for all participants to bring along their own hydration packs/flasks or cups in order to get hydration refuel at the waterpoints.there will be no paper cups allowed or issued out at the race. All participants are also strongly advised to bring along their own hydration for use during the course of the race. Water and isotonic drinks are available to the participants at the 3 waterpoints but the distance in between each waterpoint is on average 5 to 6km. 


    12. Will there be food/snacks available at the waterpoints?
    Ans: Yes. There will be premium food and nutritious snacks available to all participants at the 3 waterpoints.


    About the Race Routes


    1. What are the highlights for the 64 KM route?
    Ans: Starting off from Dairy Farm Nature Park, the 64 km route is the ultimate trail course in Singapore trail racing. Its a very challenging and pain inducing route designed for the hardcore trail fanatics and ultra trail runners. The route consists of 90% trails, 5% tarmac and 5% asphalt with 2 loops of 24 km at the Central Catchment Nature Reserve and a final 14km run to MacRitchie Reservoir to conclude the race. It will test your endurance and strength to the limits in a cut off time of 12.5hrs.  Level of difficulty: ★★★★★


    2. What are the highlights for the 23 KM route?
    Ans: Starting off from Dairy Farm Nature Park, the 22km route is designed for those who are seeking a somewhat challenging route with single track trails, cross country trails and technical trails making up over 90% of the course. This route will also finish over at MacRitchie Reservoir.  Level of difficulty: ★★★☆☆


    3. What are the highlights for the 12 KM route?
    Ans: Starting off from Dairy Farm Nature Park, the 12km route is designed for the fast and furious types who like to burn up traditional 10km road races. The route consists of 95% trails and 5% roads. It has its shares of ups and downs as the route takes you from Dairy Farm over to MacRitchie Reservoir for the finish.  Level of difficulty: ★☆☆☆☆


    4. Will there be directional markers/signages and distance markers along the race route?
    Ans: Yes. All 3 category courses will be properly marked with directional sign boards and distance markers.in addition, there will be course marshals deployed throughout all 3 courses to further assist the participants to navigate the race courses.
